Brain Dean

Donor Outreach Director

Brian Dean works as the Donor Outreach Director for
Shields & Stripes as part of the Business Development Team.

Brian, a Florida Panhandle native, comes from a military family and followed in their footsteps by enlisting in the Air Force in 2003. Over his 20-year career as a Munitions Systems Specialist, Brian was deployed multiple times in support of various campaigns and training events. Throughout his service, he developed a deep passion for fitness and a strong commitment to caring for others.

In the latter part of his military career, Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Health Science from American Military University. His enthusiasm for physical health led him to the military’s Skill Bridge program, where he completed a five-month internship at the EXOS Training Center in Gulf Breeze, Florida. During this internship, Brian worked with professional athletes, prepared collegiate athletes for the NFL combine, and supported active-duty members in their rehabilitation. It was also during this time that he was introduced to Shields & Stripes through Jennifer Byrne and Steven Nisbet.

Motivated by personal mental health challenges and his experiences supporting fellow Airmen and family, Brian felt a profound calling to contribute to Shields & Stripes. After retiring from the Air Force, he redirected his career to expand the organization’s impact, taking on the role of Donor Outreach Director, where he focuses on fundraising efforts.
In addition to his impactful work with Shields & Stripes, Brian enjoys a fulfilling retirement with his family. He stays active by working out with his son, attending metal concerts, and caring for his many rescue animals.
