Laisa A. Worthington, Athlete Advocate & Alumni Coordinator

Laisa Worthington grew up in Miami, Florida and joined the U.S. Air Force straight out of high school. January 2024, she retired after 20 years of service as an Administrator supporting the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Community and Special Operations Community her last 10 years.

Laisa’s was met with several opportunities volunteering with organizations servicing and supporting veterans and active-duty members. When she was ready to transition out of the military, she knew that she wanted to continue serving her brothers and sisters in some form. She contacted Steve Nisbet and was approved to be an Intern as an Athlete Advocate and continues to serve Shields & Stripes as an Alumni Coordinator.

She is married to a retired U.S. Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, and they have one child. They currently live in North Carolina, where they run a hobby farm raising their own cattle and chickens. She also enjoys baking, cooking, working out, riding 4-wheelers and having dance parties with her son.
