Dr. Kelli Cabrera is an occupational therapist for Shields & Stripes.
Dr. Kelli Cabrera earned her Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) and Occupational Therapy Doctorate from Bay Path University. After her MOT graduation, she worked at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Western Massachusetts, where she was able to treat diagnoses including traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and general deconditioning.

She was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, where she worked in the outpatient orthopedic clinic and the inpatient hospital. During this time, Dr. Cabrera helped establish the hospital’s first pain clinic, breast cancer rehabilitation program, special operations injury prevention program and mental health wellness classes. She worked closely with the Thunderbirds and provided ergonomic assessments for the HH-60 helicopter crews.
Dr. Cabrera obtained her hand therapy and trigger point dry needling certifications during her time in the Air Force.
Dr. Cabrera, a Marine Corps wife and mother of two, is now a faculty member at Baylor University, St. Augustine University for Health Sciences, and Bay Path University where she continues to spread her knowledge and love for the occupational therapy field. She also works virtually and in-person with operators promoting holistic health and wellness. And with whatever free time she has left, you can find her working in an outpatient hand clinic near Camp Lejeune, NC.
Dr. Cabrera is thrilled to be a part of Shields & Stripes as she is passionate about our veterans, law enforcers, and first responders. As an occupational therapist, she will cover topics including but not limited to: goal setting, journaling, sleep hygiene, memory and focus, time management, stress and anger management, meditation, communication, resourcefulness, and finding meaning and passion in life.
