Marla Harvey is an Occupational Therapist for Shields & Stripes.

Marla Harvey received her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She has spent time working in acute care hospitals, inpatient rehab facilities, outpatient orthopedic clinics and within military medicine.  She has been able to treat diagnoses including orthopedic conditions, upper extremity injuries, neurological disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and other complex medical conditions.

Marla joined the United States Air Force where she served as an active-duty occupational therapist from 2014 to 2020.  She has been stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska and Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.  She has played a role in managing outpatient physical medicine clinics and an outpatient TBI clinic.   She has also led occupational therapy groups in inpatient and outpatient mental health programs.  During this time, Marla has also created injury prevention programs for the Air Force Honor Guard, presidential support personnel, medical personnel, and various other high-risk career fields.

Marla currently works as an outpatient occupational therapist for a private practice in the Pittsburgh area while also working in holistic healthcare treating various military operators, veterans, and service members.  Marla has two children and is married to a prior Army EOD technician.

She is excited to be a part of the Shields & Stripes team where she educates veterans and first responders on sleep hygiene, cognition, time management, stress and anger management, communication, goal setting and various other topics to improve their daily life.
